Igman d.d. Konjic - new equipment for the 7.62 mm production line by the end of 2021

Igman d.d. Konjic, the world champion in the production of small arms ammunition, has started with the installation of new equipment for the 7.62 mm production line worth 10.5 million euros, which will increase the capacity by approx. 50 million pieces of this caliber.

Production capacities are filled by the end of the 2021, and accordingly, Igman d.d. Konjic, the leader among the companies of the defence industry in BiH and the region, expects that 2021 will be another in a series of successful business years.

Contract implementation of equipment suplly for the 7.62 mm line worth 10.5 million euros was announced year beafore, according to Đahid Muratbegović General Manager of Igman d.d. Konjic.

Investment worth more than 20 million BAM

"For objective reasons - pandemic circumstances, obtaining permits, necessary testing etc, the procurement of this equipment could not have been realized earlier. But to the satisfaction of our customers and our own satisfaction, realization of the new plant installation has started. We plan to increase the capacity by approximately 50 million pieces of ammunition of 7.62 mm caliber with the installation of new equipment, ", said General Manager Đahid Muratbegović.

From its own funds Igman d.d. Konjic have invested more than 20 million BAM in the company during the last half of decades. Intention is to keep the same course with short-term and long-term business plans.

76 million BAM revenue in the first half of 2021

"In the first half of 2021 we had slightly higher revenues compared to 2020, our semi-annual financial reports shows, and they amount to approximately 76 million BAM. Also, in the first half of the year, expenditures were higher, primarily due to the growth of price of raw material on the market, so that the realized profit in the first six months is approx. 4.6 million BAM. It's realistic to expect that our income by the end of 2021 will be higher in a certain amount compared to 2020 ", claims General Manager Đahid Muratbegović.

COVID-19 pandemic is in the category of leading risks for 2021 business plan.

"We had the misfortune that our company was among the first in BiH to be affected by the Coronavirus, so we operated throughout 2020 in the specific conditions of the pandemic. During the 2020, up to 300 workers were absent from work, either due to contact with an infected person or they themselves were infected. Fortunately, in 2021, we do not have a large absence from work due to COVID. People's health is more important than the number of pieces produced, and that is the approach we will have while operating in the circumstances of a pandemic," General Manager Đahid Muratbegović emphasized.

New Igman's product Catlogue 2021

"The previously mentioned investments will improve our production capacities. Also we invest in the marketing sector. A new Igman's product Catalogue 2021 is available to our customers. We are present at international military industry fairs too. We emphasize that in 2021 Igman d.d. Konjic has successfully completed a new audit of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018. After we completed the activities related to the registration of the trademark in the register of the Institute for Intellectual Property of BiH, we launched the international procedure for trademark protection, and by the end of 2021 we expect the registration will be completed in a number of countries. Also it is important to mention the implementation of one of the company strategic activities, and that is to increase the number of contracts on the commercial market, " said General Manager Đahid Muratbegović.
